In simple words, Shopify will pay you the first two months' subscription fees of client for whom you designed the store.

However, your client subscription needs to be active during that period.

Example:

If your client chooses the Basic plan of Shopify which costs $39 per month, and remains subscribed for two months, you’ll earn $78.

However, if your client cancels the subscription after one month, you will get $39 (one-month subscription fee), not $78.

Overall, you can expect to earn $25-$150 per client for whom you design a free Shopify store.
